Q: How do I get signed up?
A: We release a class schedule every February on our website, applications are available on listed date.
Q: Can I use my VA benefits for this class?
A: No, Our classes are free to the veteran community and do not require any financial commitment.
Q: Do you accept out of state veterans?
A: Yes, we accept U.S. veterans from all states and territories.
Q: Do you provide veterans funding for starting a farm?
A: Only in the form of free education classes. Starting a farm is HARD work and requires a lot of resources and determination.
Q: Do you have housing available for veterans?
A: Not currently, we are a small non-profit with limited resources. Lodging and transportation costs will be the veteran’s responsibility and they must be squared away prior to beginning class.
Q: Do you pay the veteran during the course?
A: Yes, both our CEA/Hydro class and our Market Farming class include a paid stipend.
Q: What do you do for veterans?
A: Veterans to Farmers mission is to offer veterans the opportunity to experience agriculture. We provide classes and hands-on education in various agricultural practices.
Q: Do you hold classes anywhere other than Colorado?
A: No, currently we only have classes in Colorado.
Q: Do you offer private classes or teach outside your normal class schedule?
A: Yes, we do offer private classes and are always excited to share our knowledge. Contact us for more information.
Q: Do you have a representative who can speak at or attend our event?
A: When we can, we love to attend conferences, sit on panels, or most any events were sharing our mission is valuable. Contact us for our availability.
Q: Do you accept Other Than Honorable or Dishonorable discharges?
A: Yes, this is done on a case by case basis.
