Front Range Farm and Flower

John Bauman, American AgCredit Recipient from Veterans to Farmers

John Bauman runs Front Range Farm and Flower, LLC (FRFF).  His farm services company manufactures and distributes the DTRU200 aka “Drippy”. A patented device that recovers drip tape irrigation for reuse season after season. John is also starting his own farm at Golden Solar in Golden, CO along with working part time at Tasty Acres Colorado in Lakewood, CO.  John devotes massive amounts of energy in creating tomorrow’s leaders for the small-scale agriculture industry. With effective leadership and teamwork, we can farm with little or no petroleum products. John spent 5 years on the U.S.S. Long Beach (CGN-9) as a nuclear reactor operator and earned a BSME from The University of Illinois. After several years a design engineer, John pivoted his career to local food production.  John has taken the most excellent training and support from VTF to create his new career. As a witness to the Kuwait Oil Fires, John does not employ the use of gas and oil when it is not necessary. Instead of gasoline powered equipment, he likes to use well directed human teams in place of machines. This form of biomimicry of the Soil Web Community that brings folks together for meaningful work.  John is crabby and gruff, but he is devoted to giving the next generation a foothold to clean up this planet.

In 2023 John received a $10,000 Grant from American AgCredit to purchase a Hydraulic Bender and Cutter to begin production on his patented design. John will also use funds from the grant to hire a Veteran fabricator who will help to evolve the manufacturing of the DTRU200.

John has been working on this project for several years now and has developed a lot of interest already in his product. FRFF plans to produce 50 units in the first year!
